The session continued in The Wizard's Guild. They were faced with a large Chaos Dragon called Barioth the Eternal, having been summoned by Achemar. Discussion failed, and they began fighting the dragon. After it took some damage it flew away through the ceiling. Achemar asked them to find and kill the dragon Achemar's Regret and provided them with a sword Grimtooth.

The party then went to the market and bought some good before being interrupted by masked assailants. After a long fight the surviving attackers fled. Interrogation of a surivor revealed the phrase "Vualmahr will be unchained". Brother Kaul recognised the name as the demon that is trapped in The Chaining Stone. Each of the attackers was also revealed to be covered in tattoos of chains. A monogrammed scabbard led the party to Old Jied's Adventuring Goods

They visited the shop, purchased some goods, and then asked if Jied Osmond had any information about the assailants. Upon noticing he was tattooed with chains, they intimidated him. He revealed that the group is called The Nine Chains, and that there are nine leaders. The group are devoted to freeing the demon from the stone. He claimed not to know where the cult is based, and then killed himself when questioned further. After leaving a suicide note, the party explored the basement of the shop and discovered a hidden trapdoor. After setting off a trap, they prepared to venture into the space below and remove the cult Breaking The Chain
